Last Day of School before Winter Break

On the last day of school before winter break, my Drama 12 class performed a play. The best part was behind the scenes, on our last practice... we (well... mostly Tonya!) Took so many pictures!!

As seen below... The top is Brent, Luise, me, and Wayne. God I look short!
The one below that is Brent, as the old fat rat.
The next one is Wayne, as the hot camper...
After that is me and Wayne.
The one after that is Tonya, in that oh so fine hat!
Below THAT is Greg, as the oh so sexy mayor. Hahaha

And... Hell yes, my group won the gingerbread village competition. Mostly because of Sam... haha.. We won a huge bag of chocolate.

There was five groups, we received 4 votes, the next group received 3, and the other three groups got 1 vote each.
Below is Tonya and Sam behind the winning village, then it's me and Sam behind the village. Sam was included in both of the pics, just because she's the reason we won.

GingerBread Village

In our Foods class, we've been given a challenge. What is this challenge? Building a gingerbread village. The winners of this challenge will receive a bag of Swiss chocolate. So, if my group wins, someone will be receiving a lot of chocolate from me for Christmas.

Me, Tonya, and Sam were in a group together, and made a sweet village. :-)

Sam, if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have a village. You came up with so many awesome ideas. The candy canes, the ice cream cones, the Cheerios, and so much more!. Sam, if we win, it's mostly because of you! Thank-you soo much!

Tonya, hey, how's the wall holding up? Hahaha.. sorry, that was funny :-P I know you think I've been bossy (in a couple things) or i criticize to much... and I'm sorry about that, but, come-on... you always said that you wanted Sam or Me to help you in foods class, because you "couldn't" cook or bake, and we try to help you, you get mad! And you can cook and bake, so... *sticks out tongue*

Then there was me. I put stuff together and made the glue (aka icing). I think i did good :) ... or so I thought... I don't know. We'll see tomorrow when the villages get judged!

Christmas Spirit

Well, with only 5 days left until Christmas, there is a lot of Christmas Spirit in the air! Today, I finished wrapping all my presents! That took awhile, because I had a lot to wrap. And now... We sure have a lot of presents under our tree!

Today, In our Foods class, we were working on our gingerbread villages. We started to put everything together. We have our school, with the cutest trees ever! The Big Christmas tree is... interesting though... Sam and I sure got messy doing it.

In our Art class, we (along with the grade 8s) went down to the Elementary School to watch their Christmas concert. That was actually pretty good! The pre-schoolers were sooooo adorable (love you Madison! you looked sooo cute). As were the kindergardeners (Love you lots Heather!). The best play was the grade 6-7s. Theirs was soo funny... Grandma got run over by a reindeer... and lost her wig!

...I hate Root beer...

again... it's scary how accurate it can be... But, I HATE Root Beer

You Are Root Beer

. . .this wasn't a game

On December 11, 2006, CBC: The National, had their Report from CFB Edmonton (the Army Base in Edmonton.) My cousin Jessica Guerin, and her fiance, Jason Lamont are stationed there.
At the beginning of the news cast, they showed a video of the people sitting around the base, watching the newscast. Jessie, Jason, and their son Liam were showed quite clearly. (you can see pictures of them in my past blogs.) Both Jessie and Jason were dressed in their Camo uniforms, while Liam was sitting on Jessie, fussing. He had his hair in a mohawk! SO CUTE!

We didn't see them for a bit, until the cut to a commercial. Before the commercials, they previewed their next stories. They showed a snippet of Jason, talking about Afghanistan!

Later on in the Newscast, they interviewed Jason, and 2 other soldiers. These soldiers have won the Medal of Military Valour. The section they were in was called "Home Stories, The Home Front."

It showed video of soldiers in Afghanistan... while they were in a gun battle. It was really scary, because I saw Jason in that Video. He was running, trying to get to the injured, because he is a medic. A quote from him, "A bullet shot past my head, that's when I realised, this wasn't a game." That was a eye popper. Thats when I reliased how close he was to... something I don't want to even think about. That was more of a reality check, then almost anything else I've heard.

The Cooking Photographer...

Yes... It is true... I am a Cooking Photographer!

It all started like a ususal Friday... except one thing... This Friday was our Christmas Banquet! So, after just reporting to our first class, we went into the Foods room, and started cooking! But, before I was able to leave my first class... I was given the school's Camera, and told to take pictures. I'm am now the Photographer!
Now... when I went into the Foods room, we started cooking the big feast. SO... that made me A cooker!

So... Photographer + Cooker = Cooking Photographer!

Alice A Wonderland

Remi and Me enjoying the ride back to Clinton...
What Fun!

So... on Friday some students from DSS went to Kamloops to the Sagebrush Theater. There, they were performing a play called "Alice A Wonderland."
It was a play somewhat based on Alice in Wonderland, but I wasn't too impressed. I've seen three other plays there, and this would have to be my least favorite.
It doesn't help that the flowers scared the crap out of me... COME ON! It takes a VERY secure man to wear a tight spandex suit... and dance around. Me and Remi almost killed ourselves laughing. That was probably the most entertaining, and somewhat disturbing part of the play. Oh... and the really fat twins were awesome too.
All in All... I'd give this play a 3 out of 5.

School's Closed!

School is closed today!
We can thank Ashcroft Secondary School for that... cause they control our heat! The water lines burst... again. Let's just hope the water doesn't get into the gym, and ruin the floor... again. That totally sucked last time, and we couldn't use the floor for batons. I realy don't want to go to the Elementary school for practice. I use ALOT of the height space in the high-school (i hit the roof alot), so just imagine what it would be like in elementary...

Last time this happened, we waited until spring, then went once a week to Ashcroft Secondary for practice. That was nice, because they have a bigger gym, so we had more room for ourselves, unlike at this High-school where we're jammed packed. So... we shall see...

Snow

View of the Mountain, from my House

The snow has hit... and hit hard... really hard.
The snow started falling Saturday... between 4:00pm and 5:00pm. The snow didn't stop until... about 2:00am, Monday morning.
And ouch, are we paying for it. The roads here are horrible! I had to cancel a trip to Ashcroft (oh well, I'll reschedule) And the temperature is scary! On Sunday, the temperature was -32C. That is WITHOUT the windchill. We are literally freezing our a**es off.

She's Got the Look.

She's Got the Look
2006-2007 Freestyle

1-2-3-4
walking like a man
hitting like a hammer
she's a juvenile scam.
Never was a quitter
tasty like a raindrop
she's got the look.

Heavenly bound cause heaven's got a number
when she's spinning me around
kissing is a colour.
Her loving is a wild dog
she's got the look.

She's got the look.
(She's got the look.)
She's got the look.
(She's got the look.)
What in the world can make a brown-eyed girl turn blue.
When everything I'll ever do I'll do for you and I go:
la la la la la she's got the look.

Fire in the ice
naked to the t-bone is a lover's disguise.
Banging on the head drum
shaking like a mad bull
she's got the look.

Swaying to the band
moving like a hammer she's a miracle man.
Loving is the ocean
kissing is the wet sand
she's got the look.

She's got the look.
(She's got the look.)
She's got the look.
(She's got the look.)
What in the world can make a brown-eyed girl turn blue.
When everything I'll ever do I'll do for you and I go:
la la la la la she's got the look.

And she goes: na na na na na na na na.

Grad Class

Here is our Grad Class! There are... 4 people missing I think. We have 20 grads, which is actually pretty big for Clinton. This is one of the pictures we took for the front of our cookbook! I think this one was better then the one we took, but meh, whatever.

Fundraising...

Fundraising... I'm getting so sick of it! That's all we seem to do.
Bingos, Bottle Drives, Pies, Cook-Books, Spaghetti Dinners, decorating for West Fraser, wood cutting, and skating with Santa!
Alot of Grad fundraisers here. And we've only made about $3000. We're trying to make between $10000 and $15000. Thats kindof asking alot from a town of about 750.

But there are good things about doing these fundraisers. We usually have a good time, and make some good memories. Who can forget the flour fight? Or the screechy annoying little kids at the dinner? Haha... We've had many pictures taken from most of the fundraisers (example: above) All going in the grad video, which is being done by ME!

Work

I worked this weekend...
Saturday was a good night. We did extremely well. We were never really busy, just steady. There wasn't a time when there wasn't a customer in the restaurant. Made good tips too!

Sunday... well that's a completely different story. Sunday was Grey Cup day. Since the Grey Cup was on... we weren't really expecting anyone. So, 20 minutes after the last costumer left, we closed early. So instead of closing at 8:00pm, we closed at 4:00pm. Four hours early! Whoot!!!
Unfortunately... before we closed... Alex came in, and was a complete pig as usual. Not only did he make a complete mess, but he wrote his name in Ketchup on the table. He only left me a $2 tip as well. Pfft... so next time you come in Alex, I might just refuse to serve you ~_^ ...a word of warning.

Congrads Jason!

In my last post, I mentioned my cousin, Jessie Guerin and her fiance Jason Lamont.
(That's them in the picture)

Jason was on TV on November 15, 2006, being interviewed by CBC. He, along with three other men told their story of their experience in Afghanistan. These four men are receiving the Military Medal of Valour, 2nd only to the Victoria Cross. This Medal has never been awarded before. At the end of November, Jason and the other three soldiers will be formally awarded this medal by Governor General in Ottawa.

Congratulations Jason! You've made us all Proud!!

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day was extremely busy for me, but not as busy as last year's of course. This years Remembrance Day affected me more then any other I've ever had though. This is mostly because of my cousin's fiance Jason Lamont.

At the school's Remembrance Day Service, a speech was made about Jason. They spoke about him, and then read a poem Jason had wrote for his friend, Andrew "Boomer" Eykelenboom, who was killed while both he and Jason served in Afghanistan. I completely broke down when they read the poem, because I've never heard it before, and I knew how bad Jason was affected by Boomers death. I was a little embarrassed about crying, but everyone was so nice and understanding.

At the actual Remembrance Day Service, I had been asked to lay down the wreath for David Stoddart. I was extremely proud and touched that I had been asked. I got a tiny bit emotional when I laid down the wreath. Another speech was given about Jason, and I got teary eyed again, but I had prepared myself for it, so I didn't cry.

Pairs... YIKES!

Yikes!! I'm soooo Sorry SAM!!! Please don't be mad at me... I know we agreed that it's 50/50... but still... I feel so bad...

Ok... for those of you who are lost, and asking.. "What the heck?" Let me explain...
Sam and I are Pairs partners in Batons... we've been trying this trick were Sam cartwheels over my legs, with our batons in the air.
Sam always said I would drop her...

We don't really know what happened. She threw her baton, and went in to cartwheel. Her baton hit me, and the next thing both of us knew... Sam was on the floor.

She wasn't hurt! She's ok... she thinks she might have a black eye... and if she does, I'll feel soooo bad :(

Apple Pies...

I now offically cannot stand.... Apple Pies.
I now hate them.
After making over 100 pies in just a few short hours, you would too.
Thanks to a grad funraiser, I've had to do this... TWICE.
So... 200 pies... making the pastry, rolling them out... filling them with filling, and putting on the top... now, that is quite tiring....
So... for the time being.. do not show me an apple pie, do not talk about apple pies...
do not, do not I say!

Cold... I hate Cold

...I hate when the weather changes. The weather is getting soo cold :(
I hate when the weather goes from hot, to warm, to cold. It's drepressing... no more tank-tops, shorts, skirts... Now we have to wear pants, sweaters, big winter jackets.
I'll like it better when there is actual snow on the ground. Snow is alot fun to play in, and is sooo pretty ^_^
The way the weather is right now is sooo drepressing.. The leaves have all fallen off the tries, the grass is drying out, it's always frosty in the morning...
So... basicly what I'm saying in this pointless blog, is that I can't wait until the snow comes :)

Ouch

...I hurt in places I didn't know I could hurt in...

What a weekend... Baton workshop... 4 routines to learn, and ouch, being pushed to the limits...
I feel like I pulled my leg muscle, yet again, and that's not counting all my bruises, that I don't even know I got...

Sometimes I hate baton workshops... I come out feeling so sore, and I don't usually remember my routines. Someone Please Help Me...

I'm going to sooo kill myself this year... If I don't kill myself with all my freaky tricks that I have to do, I'll die from exhaustion after each routine..

The Art of Eating Chocolate. . . No Thanks, Part 2

White Chocolate is not actually chocolate, it's been proven!

I said this in my last blog, and have been met with some controversy about it. Now, I'm out to PROVE that white chocolate is NOT chocolate.

First of all, do you know what makes chocolate, chocolate? The cocoa bean. That's the main ingredient that gives dark/brown/milk chocolate it's taste, color, and smell. White chocolate does not have this ingredient.

But, why is White chocolate called 'chocolate'?
White chocolate is called chocolate because it is made with cocoa butter (the left over fat and sugar of the cocoa bean, after being prossessed to make chocolate). However, chocolate is considered to be something which has the distinctive smell and taste of the roasted cocoa bean, and white chocolate lacks this characteristic.

So.. technically speaking... White Chocolate isn't chocolate :P

The Art of Eating Chocolate.... No Thanks.

Do you know what I absolutely hate?
Chocolate. Yes, you read that right. I said chocolate.

Now, I bet you're wondering, who in their right mind hates chocolate?
Well, obviously, I do.

Another question you're most likely wondering, is Why?
To tell you the truth, I have no idea why I don't like chocolate. I used to eat brown and dark chocolate when I was a kid. Now, I can't stand it.
Oh, and before you say... White chocolate is chocolate, you're horribly wrong. White Chocolate is not actually chocolate, it's been proven! It's more like solid vanilla ice-cream, and I have no idea how that's even possible.

So go think I'm crazy, I don't care.. haha.. enjoy the chocolate too.

TRU.. and nursing

Thompson Rivers University is now accepting applications for the Fall of 2007's classes.

Today, I wrote out my application for TRU. I am applying for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing. This course only allows a limited amount of people, so I'm applying early. I am EXTREMELY nervous about this. What if I don't get in? There are only three Universities in BC that offer this Degree... TRU, UBC, and UNBC.

I don't have all the requirements to go to UBC. I need French 11.. I only have 10. I also don't want to go to UBC, because it's in Vancouver, and I don't like Vancouver.
UNBC is in Prince George. I do not want to go to Prince George. I've also heard that it's not that great of an university.

What will happen if I'm not accepted? There's nothing else I'd want to do. I've wanted to be a nurse since before I even started highschool.... Sure I've been thinking of joining the Armed Forces, either the Navy or the Air Force... but I wanted to join to be a nurse.

Vancouver Fieldtrip

You never realize how close you become to someone in just a matter of days.

Near the the end of September, 11 students from DSS went to Vancouver on a Chemistry/English feildtrip. Having so little of us made us all actually talk to each other, and learn more about each other.
hahaha... In School most of us don't talk that often except to bug each other. :-)

We left early (before 6 even) in the morning, so most of us were sleeping on each other... Some people have some very uncomfortable shoulders....

Hahaha... Moving on...
Well when we got to Vancouver we headed down to Storyium... Well, to get there, we had to go through East Hastings... And had to get off the bus there too :( Everysingle one of us grabbed onto another, and walked down the street hand-in-hand or arm-in-arm. Haha... I think the guys liked it cause they had two or three females hooked on their arms.
Storyium was fantastic! Learned alot, and got involved in the plays :) And the cop guy was a total hottie, eh Jazmen? ;) After storyium, we headed up to UBC, and took part in the most boring tour ever of the Chemistry Labs... I almost fell asleep!!! After UBC, we headed to watch A Shakespere play, "Measure by Measure" It was FANTASTIC. I love seeing live plays.
After the play, we headed back to a hostel, where we were staying for the night. We played pool for a bit (haha I beat you Teri... made Alex and Fraser lose their bet too!), then headed to bed. The bedding completely stunk. :(
The Next day, we headed to Science World. I've never been there before, so it was quite interesting. I enjoyed it, but Body World was kinda disappointing :( Soon after we headed out headed home. We stopped at a mall for lunch and some shopping. Where did I head staight for? LA SENZA! whooo :) After shopping, we went home. What a fun field trip! I wanna go again!

Thanksgiving

Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone!
Hope it was a good one. I had an awesome Thanksgiving! My cousin, her fiance, and their son came up to stay with us. I haven't seen them in over a year. They arrived early Saturday morning (around 4:00 AM!) and stayed until early Monday.

Their Baby Liam was sooooo full of energy! Thats him and me in the photo. I loved every minute of it though. I wish I had a younger brother.

Thanksgiving Dinner was on Sunday Night, and we had 9 people over. Dinner was FANTASTIC! Thanks Mom! After dinner, we played cards, and had alot of fun!

Best Part of all was the TURKEY!!!! Whoooo

Fall...

You know it's fall when?

Fall is the depressing season in my opinion... The leafs are turning yellow, and red, and brown... Then they lose their leaves... The grass turns brown... Snow starts to fall... The weather is getting colder... School's back in....

There are some good things about fall though ^_^ Thanksgiving... MMMMmmmm Turkey.... Halloween.... WHOOOOO free candy!!!!! My Birthday... YEAH another year older!
